Older Person’s Domestic Abuse Practitioner

  • The job is funded by Lloyds Bank Foundation and is a fixed term contract until 31st July 2022
  • 37 hours per week (some out of hours work will be expected)
  • Salary £23,698 per annum plus additional benefits such as clinical supervision, training, 24 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays and birthday leave

We are seeking an experienced, committed and creative Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our amazing team.

Main purpose of the post:
To provide high quality frontline support, to victims of domestic abuse (DVA), delivering a proactive service to those at high risk to meet their identified needs .The post holder will work collaboratively within a multiagency framework consisting of, amongst others, the MARAC partners, Stockport Community Safety Partnership, Children and Adult Safeguarding services and local partners and community projects to establish a multi-agency response to domestic abuse. The post holder will support victims through utilising Criminal Justice System prior to, during and after court hearings; ensuring they are supported and informed of legal options and implications.

To enable individuals and families to develop and maintain positive relationships that promote their wellbeing, keep them safe and prevent, reduce or delay their need to access statutory services. 

Working holistically with people who may have complex and multiple needs, the Case Worker will make interventions to help build upon existing personal strengths and support networks to enhance resilience, develop self-esteem and minimise the threat of harm to themselves or others.
