Peer Support Group
The peer support group was originally set up for women to have a place to meet with other women who have had similar experiences. It’s a welcoming friendly space for people to have a coffee, boost confidence and reduce isolation within the community by meeting with other people. It offers opportunities to learn new skills through therapeutic crafts or come up with ideas for future activities and events…………..or the chance to just drop in for a chat.
‘One week we decided to get crafty and create a mood board to reflect the positives in our lives’
‘We created this ‘post it note’ art so that people can put on positive quotes or inspiring words to motivate people, it’s a work in progress!'
Some of the group find painting nails quite relaxing whilst having a brew and a chat.
'We visited the Plaza as we obtained free tickets to see the ‘just nipped out for fags’ production by the MAD theatre company, we also had some money from our tea/coffee donations to pay for drinks and nibbles!'
